I did 3.5 pattern repeats before the lace border, and I only managed to squeeze 6 rows for the border before I ran out of yarn. But still a pretty nice size.

And for the sKNITches Summertime KAL going on in our Ravelry group, here’s my Trinity!

I think these are shawls 5 and 6 for the 10 shawls challenge. I’ve still got to photograph my finished Saroyan, and shawls 7 & 8 are on the needles (more on those soon). Whew!

Here I am! I got a bit overwhelmed with some family stuff going on, but don’t think I let my 10 shawls challenge feel neglected. Here’s a new one.

handspun 2ply- 2 colorways:
FLUFF 50/50 yak/merino in Sunset at Kopan (the darker)
Pigeonroof Studios 50/50 baby alpaca/merino in Structure (the lighter)
size 6 needles, size M, no pattern mods

model shot
I think I’m in love. I had no idea if the 2 yarns would compliment each other well or not, but now that it’s completed it might be my new favorite thing ever!

a better look at the colors
Knit from the bottom edge up, you have to pick up a lot of stitches, so it takes forever initially but them speeds right along.

security shawl
Saroyan is also finished, just needs a photo shoot. So 4 down, 6 to go! And what to knit next?!

Thanks to all of you for your wonderful comments on my Citron! I’ve been fully shawl-motivated and managed to get another completed.

handspun 2ply-FLUFF fibers – 2 colorways plied together:
Romance in sw bfl/Desert Rose in bfl
size 6 needles, no pattern mods

I loved the simplicity of this pattern, and the bfls make it super cozy. FLUFF fibers is totally addicting and the colorways are amazing, not to mention the 2 great ladies behind it all are the nicest around. If you’re a spinner and haven’t checked them out, for shame!

A sKNITches shop update is on the menu for this week, more on that soon. And more projects to come. Some fiber on the wheel, still plugging away on Saroyan, and a little quilting in the works!

I’m pretty pleased with how it turned out, though the handspun distracts the pattern a little Just an fyi, the pattern calls for 470yds but mine ended up using around 550yds. Luckily I had the Zen Yarn fiber already spun in a pretty similar weight and pinky color, so I did the ruffle in that.

I know, I needed another hobby like a hole in the head. But when we first moved into our new place this past summer, I innocently thought I’d try my hand at making curtains for us.

languishing curtain fabrics
After endless hours of fabric hunting on etsy, is it really a surprise that a bit of fabric stashing started going on? (by the way, I still haven’t made the curtains…)

fabric stash
After drooling over the amazing talent pool out there, specifically here, here and here, I began dreaming of wonderful colorful quilts! Where to begin? I thought a coin quilt seemed simple enough.

the beginnings of a quilt
Of course in my mind, you can’t make a quilt without a good amount of variety—must buy fabric.

a closer look
Stay tuned and see if I ever figure out what the heck I’m doing, and if not knowing stops me from buying more fabric (yeah, sure).
